About

My name is Mary Chandler and this blog is so that my friends and family can follow my journey to Ecuador.  Some of it will contain the story of what brought me here, as well as what happens to me along the way.  Also, the Lord has put a lot of things in my heart and mind these last several years and now that I am finally able to “be still” again, I hope to be able to share some of those things as well.

For a little more insight into who I am, here is my life mission statement and verse:

I will live my life joyfully, full of God’s love and in the right balance and priorities, as a light of God’s truth, to encourage, lead and inspire others to grow and fulfill their life’s purpose by loving God fully and discovering and becoming who He created them to be.

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me…” – Acts 20:24 (TNIV)

Other favorite verses:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.” – Romans 8:28-29 (emphasis added)
“For the work of righteousness shall be peace, and the effect of righteousness, calm and confidence forever. Then my people shall dwell in peaceful homes in secure dwellings, in untroubled places of rest.”- Isaiah 32:17-18
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” – Isaiah 61:1-3
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

  1. I am so excited for you! It looks like your transition has been smooth & relaxing…envious of you! I hope 2014 starts out wonderful & continues that way. 🙂

    • Thanks, Vicki – it has not been without its little “bumps”, but over all the pluses way outweigh the minuses! After this very busy year, I am definitely grateful God is allowing me to “coast” into 2014 and look forward to seeing what new adventures it holds!

  2. Dear mary, first off, I wanted to wish you a belated birthday! I thought of you on that day and I knew God was looking after you. I was so thrilled to read that you had friends come and visit during that time. You sound refreshed and renewed. You look great also. I pray for you often.
I wanted you to know that over the years you have always been on my mind and heart. I should have expressed that more often. I miss you. I often hestitate now to write anything because you consider me a friend of your past, which I respect that. I hope you know that I love you and always will. I will continue to pray for God’s abundance and protection in your life. Again, happy birthday!

    Love, Barbara
